Pathology of Thyroid Gland Hyperplasia

Endemic goiter is an enlargement of the thyroid gland due to dietary iodine deficiency. This double-page spread illustration describes the progression of thyroid gland hyperplasia from diffuse goiter to nontoxic, multinodular goiter. The illustration includes a diagram of the feedback loop between thyroid gland hormones in a healthy human.
